Troubleshooting Horizontal Carton Erector - Tape Issues

Issue: Tape Folding Back During Application

When the machine applies tape, the tape folds back. ( Figure 1)

Reason:

The cylinder buffer that pushes the brush might be over-adjusted, causing the cylinder to not complete its stroke. As a result, the brush returns before fully applying the tape, pulling some of the tape back and causing it to fold, as shown in the picture above.

Checking:

Air Pressure Check:

Ensure the air pressure of the cylinder supplying the brush is sufficient. If the air pressure is insufficient, the cylinder will move back before reaching its full stroke. Adjust the air pressure as needed.

Adjust the Air Pressure Buffer:

Make sure the cylinder extends fully before returning by adjusting the air pressure buffer.
