Q: How to adjust and operate a vertical carton erector?
A: Please follow the steps below to correctly set up and operate the vertical carton erector:
Step 1: Adjust the Left and Right Belt Range
Set the belt ranges on both sides of the carton erector to the maximum. Manually fold the bottom of the carton and place it into the machine. Then, adjust the belt ranges so the belts press and hold the carton securely in place.
Step 2: Adjust the Carton Pressing Plate and Transport the Carton
Manually rotate the handle to move the pressing plate until it holds the carton in position without crushing it.
Switch the touch screen to manual mode, turn on the "Belt conveyor motor" to transport the carton out of the machine, then turn it off.
Step 3: Adjust the Trough Section
Loosen the upper and lower handles of the trough. Insert the carton into the trough, slide the fixed plate until the carton is properly positioned, then lock the handles. Finally, lower the carton push plate.
Step 4: Set the Suction Cup Position
Adjust the erecting zone to its maximum width. On the touch screen, click "Grab material cylinder" to move the suction cup close to the carton, then click "Grab material sucker" to stop the airflow.
Manually adjust the suction cup position so it contacts the width of the carton. The suction cup must not exceed the carton’s length.
Step 5: Suction Cup Grabs the Carton
Release the control on the touch screen to return the machine to its original position. Click "Grab material cylinder" — once the suction cup picks up the carton, click it again and the suction cup will lift the carton from the trough.
Step 6: Adjust Push Rods and Perform Carton Folding
Use the handle to adjust the side push rod, keeping a 1mm gap between the rod and the carton.
Use another handle to adjust the suction cup rod height so that the surface of the carton is aligned with the conveyor belt.
On the touch screen, click the following functions in sequence to perform the carton folding:
Fold front page cylinder
Fold rear page cylinder
Fold side page cylinder
Belt conveyor motor
Push box cylinder
Note: If the carton cannot be delivered smoothly, the belts may not be pressing the carton. Adjust the handle to clamp the belts onto the carton as shown in the video.
Step 7: Start Automatic Carton Erecting
Click the button on the touch screen to release all manual controls. Insert a new carton into the trough, return to the main page, and press "Erector one" to check whether the operation is smooth.
If everything is working properly, click "Start" to begin automatic carton erecting.
